Tests and questionnaires

 
The tests and questionnaires used by SHL were designed by a team of psychologists expert in this particular field of work psychology. The tests facilitate the prompt, precise and objective assessment of a candidate.
The application of psychological tests is not only useful in making a fair diagnosis of certain psychological illnesses or emotional setbacks; it also provides apt references as to how to make the performance of an individual more efficient; and it may effectively assist in the selection of the most suitable workforce for any given position within a company.
For 30 years now, SHL has been assisting human resource management by the adept application of psychological tests designed especially for the world of corporate work. Based on thorough scientific findings, SHL's psychologists devised and tried these tests over a long period of time. SHL can therefore any time warrant for their reliability, ensuring clients that the tests measure exactly what needs to be measured.
Due to the systematic and logical compilation of these materials, the usage of SHL tests (the conducting of tests, the assessment of data and the evaluation of results) may be learned by HR managers without an actual background in psychology as well, provided that they are trained by SHL consultants.
SHL believes that, as opposed to using 'general' tests, the world of corporate work requires specialised measurement tools. SHL has, therefore, devised a wide range of tools and approaches; and has a large number of specialised tests designed exclusively for: physical workers, sales managers, customer service people, administrators, engineers, technicians, and managers.
 

Ability tests

 
SHL's ability tests may be applied to assess the competencies relevant to a wide range of occupations, from physical workers all the way to managing directors. Our clients may choose from among more than 60 different types of tests in order to find the most appropriate ones to measure competencies which are most relevant to the given job/position.
SHL's ability tests are based on thorough psychological research - as a direct result of which their psychometric characteristics are valid and reliable. During their development, it was fundamental to ensure that their relevance to the world of work is apparent already at first glance, and that they adequately model the key characteristics of the given job or position to be assessed. It was likewise of crucial importance not to use any overly specialised terms or expressions throughout the test. Last, but certainly not least, SHL's ability tests are remarkably cost-effective: a large number of mistakes may be eliminated at a minimum of costs - which mistakes might, at a later date, cost the company exorbitant amounts of money.

Assessment-Development Centres and Exercises

 
The term 'Assessment-Development Centre' is relatively new in Hungary. It is, above all, a collective of specific measurement tools (in Hungary often abbreviated as 'ÉFK') that serve to make selection and development processes more effective and reliable.
Each Assessment-Development Centre integrates our client's particular requirements with SHL's specialised skills and valuable experience in the field. Group and individual exercises make selection and development processes all the more constructive, complementing results already acquired.
It is a crucial part of any Assessment-Development Centre that, apart from SHL's external consultants, so-called internal assessors from the given company are also present during the assessment process, along with the company's managing directors and human resource managers. SHL advises/guides these internal assessors beforehand on how to collect information in the most effective way from observing the exercises candidates perform. This further ensures the client that the company's priorities and particular concerns are duly emphasized during the assessment.
In the particular case of international/multinational companies, SHL Hungary Ltd. is prepared to conduct Assessment-Development Centres along with all the necessary coaching/training programs in both Hungarian and English.
In the framework of a licensed-contract, SHL's Assessment-Development Centres may also be purchased upon request: this way the company itself becomes self-sufficient in conducting them at any time. SHL offers specialised training programs on a regular basis, at which both the organisation and managing of Assessment-Development Centres may be mastered by the company's own HR mangers/appointed people.
