Competency questionnaires are based on a somewhat different theoretical model than personality inventories. They are always job-specific, that is, there are different questionnaires for managers, for those in working in sales, customer service etc. Occasionally individual companines bring about their own competency model and SHL develops the corresponding questionnaire. The Inventory of Management Competencies has the advantages of both normative and ipsative tests, and both questionnaires can be used as a 360° tool.
