Working for an IT consultancy, the participant is asked to devise a resourcing plan to ensure that the needs of each of the two new big contracts are met. Options include using contractors or training internal staff using quick, but expensive, training or longer-term study on the job with skilled personnel. The options has varied cost, timescale and sustainability implications. There is additional material for the participant to consider a commentary on the market and technology trends; information about the customers and projected resourcing needs; the merits of different people who could take on project team leadership roles; costs of contractor and training and development options. The participant is required to do a presentation or write a report to the Operations Director.
