Occupational Personality Questionnaire (OPQ)This is probably the most widely used and certainly the most informative assessment tool provided by SHL. It relies on the assumption that the majority of healthy adults are able and willing – with a little help – to construct a realistic image of themselves. OPQ indicates the candidate’s perception of their preferred behavioural style at work and likely performance against important job competencies. Customer Contact Styles Questionnaire (CCSQ)The CCSQ battery consists of two questionnaires, both of which were developed specifically for assessment in customer service and sales jobs. The scales provide information on those aspects of personality which are especially important for sales and customer service. They can be used together with the ability tests of CCAS battery. IMAGESThis short pair of questionnaires (each takes about 10 minutes) assesses six characteristics of the candidate: the way they evaluate themselves (IMAGES 1) and how others evaluate them (IMAGES 2). Thanks to its unique carbon paper answer sheet the result can be obtained almost immediately after taking the test. It is recommended when saving time is a primary objective, or when providing a detailed account of personality is not necessary, such as when selecting candidates for administrative or semi skilled jobs. Work Styles Questionnaire (WSQ)The Work Styles Questionnaire has been specifically designed to help assess and develop the behaviours associated with successful job performance in the areas of manufacturing and production. The style of the items and the dimensions measured are suitable for such jobs. Motivation Questionnaire (MQ)Motivation of the workforce is a key determinant of organisational effectiveness. This determines how much time and energy people invest in achieving work objectives, and how long and under what circumstances effort will be maintained. Highly motivated people can become high achievers even with lower abilities; with insufficient motivation, however, even the most talented people do not perform as well as they could. Hence the measurement of motivation is essential for appropriate assessment. The Motivation Questionnaire is based on a brand new theoretical model developed by SHL, and it provides a comprehensive understanding of those factors which increase and reduce the individuals’ motivation. Competency Questionnaires (CQ)Competency questionnaires are based on a somewhat different theoretical model than personality inventories. They are always job-specific, that is, there are different questionnaires for managers, for those in working in sales, customer service etc. Occasionally individual companines bring about their own competency model and SHL develops the corresponding questionnaire. The Inventory of Management Competencies has the advantages of both normative and ipsative tests, and both questionnaires can be used as a 360° tool. Perspectives on Management Competencies (PMC)The PMC facilitates constructive, in-depth, 360° degree development of managers, based on detailed assessment of 36 key management competencies, viewed from multiple perspectives.
